Pims
Pumps Proposal
The Sewers for Adoption
document details the basic requirements
for adoptable systems, which each Water
Company has a tendency to add to, with its
own individual specification and guidelines
resulting in considerable confusion over
the level of equipment actually required.
The standard manner in
which quotations for pumping stations are
generally obtained by developers utilising
competitive tenders leaves them in the position
of having to compare several alternative
offers with differing levels of equipment,
without knowing if the most ‘attractive’
quotation is actually fully compliant with
the particular specification required.
The tendency is for the
client to pick the lowest price irrespective
of what is included.
We include equipment to
meet the minimum requirements of the Water
Authorities addendum to the Sewers for Adoption
document and we quote all items that are
potential requirements and steelwork as
optional extras.
This allows Pims allows
Pims to offer a competitive price whilst
ensuring specification compliance.
Supporting information
is provided with our quote such as typical
performance curves and Sewers For Adoption
drawing.
Benefits to Client
- As a company Pims meet
the requirements of the specification. Others
bidding may not and whilst the client may
receive the lowest bid from others initially,
in the long term they will pay more to bring
the station up to a standard the Water Authority
are prepared to adopt.
- Many of our Partnering
clients have been caught in this scenario
and therefore the benefits of the partnering
process is more apparent to them.
